Sorry about our laziness with our blog, but BHC is already fully back to business as usual on Amwell Street. 
Greece was great, super clear blue sky & sea, exactly like their flag. 
Hope to see you all soon.

しばらくぶりで大変申し訳ありませんが、BHCは無事に夏休みを終え、通常通りの営業に戻っております。
暑い暑いとわいわい言いながら過ごしたギリシャの夏は、笑っちゃう位能天気な晴れ空と、信じられないくらい透き通ったブルーの海で、まさにギリシャの国旗そのものでした。またいつか泳ぎに行きたいなあ、と思いながら、仕事に戻るとします。

A beautiful collaborative project by photographer Jason Orton & writer Ken Worpole. We love the stillness and calm emptiness of these wabi-sabi-like English landscapes. This book is making us wanting to travel to English countryside! 


写真家Jason Orton氏と、ライターKen Worpole氏によるコラボレーションのプロジェクト。ハッとするような静けさと穏やかな空虚感が漂う、ひと味違った、ちょっとわびさびさを感じるイギリスの田舎風景の写真集＆エッセイの本です。
コラボレーションであってもそれぞれの作品は独立して存在すべき。
との考えから、共通のテーマがある以外は、制作はお互い自由に行うそう。だからか、写真と文が不思議な距離感で繋がっていて、引き込まれてしまいます。英国の田舎に出かけたくなります！

Our new favourite magazine is all about farming. You don't have to be a farmer to enjoy reading about 'How to Dress Cool' tips from farmers and a cute feature on farm dogs!

わたし達の新しいお気に入りは、農業の雑誌。最新号は、ファームドッグについての可愛らしい特集や、「涼しく過ごすコツ」特集など、屋外で過ごす事の多いファーマーならではの知恵もあり、ダイレクトに農業との関わりがなくても楽しめる読み物です。

Watching the World Cup!!
We went to our local screening with a few bottles of beers. Unfortunate results for both England and Japan... but let's hope for the next one!

ワールドカップ！！
近所で開かれていたスクリーニングにて、ビール片手にイングランドと日本戦を観戦。
どちらも結果は残念だったけど…４年後に期待！

Had a night out to a theatre to watch Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. Adaptation was so cleverly done, so English and so funny! Great theatre sets too.

お客さまがご招待くださり、お芝居を観に久々にシアターへ。
オスカー・ワイルド作の喜劇「真面目が肝心」を観劇。ストーリーが現代風にうまく書き足されていて、テンポの良いコテコテのイングリッシュユーモアに大笑い。セットも素敵で見所がたくさんです。

Akiko Hirai Ceramic & Lina Peterson Jewellry at Chocolate Factory Open Studio.
東ロンドンにあるChocolate Factoryのオープンスタジオにて、陶芸家のヒライアキコさんと、ジュエリーデザイナーのLina Petersonさんにお会いしました。

The next open studio is coming up in November, perfect time for some Christmas shopping!
次のオープンスタジオは１１月との事で、クリスマスショッピングにぴったり！






New Designers 2014 

Our first visit to the show to see some energetic works by recent graduates and emerging designers.

偶然入場券をいただき、初めて訪れたヤングデザイナーのイベント。若いデザイナーたちによるテキスタイル、ジュエリー、セラミックなどの展示会です。


Looking at contemporary jewelleries is just so enjoyable! 

コンテンポラリージュエリーのエリアは、眺めているだけで本当におもしろい！

Fell in love with the cotton scarves by a Japanese designer Asato Goto, made with vintage Yukata (traditional Japanese summer gown) textiles. 

日本人デザイナー、ゴトウアサトさんによる、大降りのコットン素材のスカーフに一目惚れ。ヴィンテージの浴衣の反物を使っているそうです。ジオメトリックな和柄がとてもモダン。

Asato later kindly visited us at the salon with her samples. The scarves are large enough to be used as lots of other things. We love them as a beautiful lightweight summer blanket at BHC!

後日サロンを訪れてくださり、改めてサンプルを拝見。大降りなのでスカーフとしてだけでなく、沢山の使い道がありそうです。サロンでは、ちょっと贅沢に夏用の膝掛けに使わせていただこうと思っています。

世界中のギャラリーから、たくさんのアーティスト達の作品が集まっていました。特にジュエリーが素敵すぎて、目がクラクラ！

Our new ivy and succulent plants with The Plant magazine.
Some of the features in Issue 5 are: Isamu Noguchi's playgrounds, Banana Plant, The Little Shop of Horrors.... and of course some useful tips for growing plants.

when BHC is on a day-off

Our typical day off - swimming in the morning, followed by a long, late lunch somewhere.
Last week we were at The Duke of Cambridge, an organic pub. Since first introduced by a friend couple, this place has become our 1st stop for some slow and relaxed eating/drinking. It's also not too far from our salon if anyone wants to go after visiting BHC. 
わたし達の休日は、午前中に水泳をした後、どこかで遅めのランチを食べながらだらだらと過ぎてゆくのがお決まりのパターンです。先週はオーガニックパブ、The Duke of Cambridgeに行きました。友人夫婦に連れて行ってもらって以来、ゆっくり飲み食いしたい時はここに来ることが多いです。サロンからも近いので、BHC帰りの寄り道にも便利！

たくさんの新しいデザインが広い会場にびっしり。サロンで使えそうなものもたくさんありました。会場内はこんな感じ。

机の上の整理整頓に便利な小物。ナチュラルな素材使いが上手なこのブランド、ブースも木材のフレームで作られていて素敵でした。
