Barbican Conservatory

Did you know that there is a conservatory in Barbican Centre? 
We did't until very recent Sunday afternoon!
ロンドンの金融街にほど近いBarbican Centre、ここに小さな植物園があるのをご存知でしょうか。ロンドンに長く住んでいるわたし達ではありますが、この存在に気づいたのは、なんと、つい最近の日曜日！

We stupidly got lost in some silent maze-like corridors of Barbican complex to find its entrance, but it's always been there, unbelievably, right next to the main art gallery.... Seriously, why could we not spot this before. 
入り口を見つけるのに迷ってしまい、迷路のようなBarbicanの通路を通り抜けてやっと辿り着いたと思ったら、なんとメインアートギャラリーの真隣…。ここにあったなんてどうして今まで気がつかなかったのだろう。


















Tropical plants and cactuses room are good inspirations for our window garden at BHC, and there is a fish pond too! A truly magical hideout in the middle of the concrete jungle.
熱帯植物が生い茂る温室にはサボテンの部屋もあり、サロンに植物を置いているわたし達にとって勉強になりそうな事がたくさん。鯉が泳いでいる池も！
コンクリートジャングルの中の秘密の隠れ家、日曜日にぴったりです。

Margate is a place we kept hearing about for a while, so one Sunday morning we decided - let's go to Margate! 
The new Turner Contemporary, the same sky once painted by Turner, the mysterious Shell Grotto... With a little bit of scruffiness, the area has an unique mixture of bright and dark. We ate Wimpy too!


ある休日の朝、急に思い立ちMargateを訪れました。イギリスの南東にある小さな港町。
偶然にも同じ時期に数人のお客さまからおすすめされ、いつか行ってみたいと思っていました。近年は景気や治安の悪化が問題となっている町ですが、TurnerやTracy Eminゆかりの地であることや、Turner Comtemporary現代美術館がオープンしたりと、アート関連で新たに注目されている町です。古い建物がアートギャラリーやヴィンテージショップに変わっていたり、貝殻の洞窟など、小さな見所も。海沿いではロンドンでは珍しいWimpy（昔ながらのハンバーガーチェーン）も発見！
ロンドンから少し足を伸ばしてみたい方、おすすめです。

Bye-bye Summer, hello Winter

Sorry about our laziness with our blog, but BHC is already fully back to business as usual on Amwell Street. 
Greece was great, super clear blue sky & sea, exactly like their flag. 
Hope to see you all soon.

しばらくぶりで大変申し訳ありませんが、BHCは無事に夏休みを終え、通常通りの営業に戻っております。
暑い暑いとわいわい言いながら過ごしたギリシャの夏は、笑っちゃう位能天気な晴れ空と、信じられないくらい透き通ったブルーの海で、まさにギリシャの国旗そのものでした。またいつか泳ぎに行きたいなあ、と思いながら、仕事に戻るとします。

Due to an out-of-salon commitment and summer holiday, BHC will be closed for a short time soon.
