A magazine for all drink lovers (including us at BHC!). This issue is all about beer, so a must read if you like beers. You can also find nice tips on how to get served quickly at bars and an article about Japanese Sake!

お酒好き（わたし達を含む）にはたまらない、お酒の雑誌です。今回はビール特集なので、ビール好きの方、必読です。他にも、バーカウンターで早くオーダーを取ってもらう方法（パブでついついオーダーのタイミングを逃し続けてしまった経験、ありますね！）や、その他日本酒の特集など。

Our favourite textile magazine! In relation to this month's theme Blue & White, it was lovely to find an article about Japanese indigo. 

わたし達の大のお気に入り。テキスタイルについての雑誌です。今号のテーマ、Blue & Whiteに関連して、日本の藍染めが取り上げられていました。

An inspirational day at Collect 2014, the International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects.

現代ジュエリーやオブジェなどの展示会、Collect 2014に行ってきました。
世界中のギャラリーから、たくさんのアーティスト達の作品が集まっていました。特にジュエリーが素敵すぎて、目がクラクラ！

Vintage hair accessories - Buch + Deichmann of Denmark

We got so fed up of not being able to find enough hair accessories in shops, so we've decided to go on our own hunting journey....
Our first batch is, vintage Buch + Deichmann of Denmark hair clips.
Buch + Deichmann is a Danish accessory company (now an eyewear brand) produced lots of quirky plastic jewelleries in the 70s and 80s. Here are some of our favourites, all available at BHC.

常々思っていた事。街のショップで手に入る、かわいいヘアアクセサリーの種類ってすごく少ない。それなら自分たちで探そう！ということで、密かにヘアアクセサリーハンティングをしていました。
第一弾は、Buch + Deichmann of Denmark社のヴィンテージヘアアクセサリー。現在もアイウエアブランドとして存在しているブランドですが、７０年代から８０年代にかけて発表していた、インパクトのあるプラスチック素材のジュエリーがすごくステキなのです。今回入荷の物は８０年代のヴィンテージ。状態もとてもいいです。

Opens in the middle like this....
Great for ponies and half-up styles. For thinker hair, why not do a pony with elastic first and then use this.

下の部分が中心から左右に開くタイプです。ポニーテールや、トップの髪の毛をまとめるときに。毛量の多い方はゴムで結んだ後からつけても。
























Orange crocodile barrette  £10
オレンジ色のバレッタ　

It's a very thin barrette but because of its large width, it can actually hold a lot more hair than it looks.
Great for clipping on the side, or take both sides of hair and clip at the back. Or it will look cute on short hair as a large head piece too!

厚さは薄めですが、幅が広いので見た目より意外とたっぷりの毛の量が挟めます。
サイドに留めたり、両サイドを後ろでまとめるのに使ったり。大降りのアクセサリー感覚で、ショートヘアにもいいと思います。

Colourful diamond shaped barrettes. Wearing a few of them together would look very cute!

ダイアモンドのような形のカラフルなバレッタ。いくつか組み合わせて付けるのも楽しいです。

Our new ivy and succulent plants with The Plant magazine.
Some of the features in Issue 5 are: Isamu Noguchi's playgrounds, Banana Plant, The Little Shop of Horrors.... and of course some useful tips for growing plants.

Norah Magazine - Craft Issue

A lovely magazine from Japan - Norah Magazine. The magazine was founded by a farmer's market organiser. As the title Norah (comes from 野良仕事 'farm work' in Japanese)suggests, each issue features things to inspire slow and independent living. In this issue, their focus is on handicrafts and other thing made with care and passion. Every issue is printed on offcuts produced by publishers, so each page has slightly different texture. 
ファーマーズマーケットの主催者の方が発行している、日本発のステキな雑誌、Norah。タイトルの由来が「野良仕事」のとおり、「自分のペースで、気ままに生きる事」をテーマにした季刊誌です。今回はクラフトをテーマに、民芸品や、食べ物など、心を込めて作られた物についての特集です。全ページに印刷会社から出る余り紙が使われているため、ページごとに紙のテクスチャーが違うのもおもしろいです。

Métier - Small Business in London, Laura Braun

A book about small independent business in London. Sadly some of them have closed already, but very nice to see those specialists being appreciated.
ロンドンの専門店についての本です。古くからのお店や、いかにもひとクセありそうな店主の方達の様子が見れて楽しいです。残念ながらいくつかのお店はすでに閉店してしまっているようですが…。何でも簡単に物を手に入ることができる世の中だからこそ、専門店を探し、訪れる、という行為に焦点が当たるのは、うれしい事です。

The Gourmand - A food and culture journal - Issue 03

A biannual journal about food and culture. 
Some fascinating work tools of Peta O'Brien, a food stylist/organic model maker, and some extraordinary representation of James Wannerton's Sunday roasts interpretations. Because of his rare condition, he experiences words and sounds as tastes, so a sound of bubble wrapping tastes as a roast pork to him (picture bottom). How interesting!
年二回発行のフード＆カルチャー誌です。フードスタイリストでもありモデルメーカーでもある、Peta O'Brien氏愛用の仕事道具についての記事をはじめ、とても印象的だったのが、James Wannerton氏の持つ、音と言葉を味覚として判断してしまう珍しい症状についてのイメージシリーズ。包装のプチプチの音を聞くと、ローストポークの味がしてしまうそう！こんな感じで、彼の感じる、サンデーローストのメニューが写真にまとめてあります（写真下）。
